  • Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway

    Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway

I'll likely watch this one at least once more but first impressions are mixed to negative.

This is a very impressive movie when it's depicting mobile suits. Over and over we get these shots that bluntly communicate how hostile these machines are to any kind of life on Earth. They're omnipresent and they crush, burn, and shatter everything they touch. The air raid scene in the park in particular is great at communicating the terror of being around these titanic…

  • Scream

dude i think this movie might have some thoughts about how US cultural scrutiny falls on horror fiction as a potential cause of violence while ignoring the harm that news media does by exploiting and sensationalizing actually occurring violence in our communities.

  • Inception

That's a significantly gayer movie than I remembered! I know its all about Leonardo DiCaprio's dead wife but its also about Leo and Ken Watanabe's characters' manly vow of honor to be young men together.

Also Tom Hardy is there really gaying it up the whole time.

  • Wasteland

    it's pretty good

  • Doom

a full third of this movie is the Rock shouting like "Guy #3, Guy #6, you watch the door! Guy #4, go do the secondary objective! Guy #7, you're with me." and then they all point their gun flashlights at shit for ten minutes.

  • Clerks

Well, I guess I'm the idiot with the queer reading of Clerks in 2020.

  • Perfect Blue

    Perfect Blue

I didn't really get along with this one and I'm not entirely sure why? It just didn't hit.

  • Psycho-Pass: The Movie

    Psycho-Pass: The Movie

In a lot of ways this movie is what I liked about Psycho-Pass with a lot of the fluff taken out and although I definitely liked it overall, the environment design is super off-putting and that's a huge hurdle for me. The temple setting especially is so grimy and indistinct it looks like it's from the wrong movie. That ending stinger though.

  • Drive

Ryan Gosling repeatedly clenching and unclenching his leather-gloved hands. That's the review.

  • Doom: Annihilation

    Doom: Annihilation

Weirdly enough it's very similar to the first resident evil movie but it's also kind of worse in every way.
