Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home ★★★★

SPOILER FREE APART FROM ONE VERY SIGNPOSTED SENTENCE

I think you’d be hard pressed to find a person alive who hasn’t been effected by Spider-Man in some way, from the cartoons and comics to the original movies, the remake and now the remake remake…he’s been a cultural touchstone for almost everyone, and No Way Home is a celebration of this amazing character!

Over the last 24 hours, the second thing I’m always thinking about is No Way Home. The highs, the lows, the big action and the quiet moments.

As soon as we found out they were including multiversal villains, I was skeptical about how this film would come together but I can happily say, it’s done so so well! Lizard and Sandman are giving much less to do than the other 3, and there motivations are much less realised but I enjoyed them greatly! Doc Ock picks up perfectly from where he left off, Electro is improved on immensely but…of course…Dafoe rules this shit! To me, he gives an even better performance in this than in the original with a truly maniacal nature! The action sequence with him is…oh brother!

Tom Holland earns his title of Spider-Man here, giving the best performance in the role. I truly love him as Peter and am so excited to see where he goes! The growth of this character in a cinematic marvel and THIS film recontextualised the 2 films before in a way we could’ve never imagined! His ending in this is nothing short of stunning.

MJ and Ned are giving a great amount to do in this film which is really appreciated and Doctor Strange was fantastic too!

THIS SECTION IS A SPOILER…YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!
Charlie Cox, I’m so glad you’re back! Also Maguire and Garfield, be still my beating hard! All those three, bouncing off each other was the most pure and heartwarming thing I’ve seen! I think Andrew may have solidified himself as my favourite actor to play Peter, my favourite Peter and my favourite actor in general!
SPOILERS OVER…IT’S SAFE NOW

It’s hard to imagine this film actually exists and that I love it…but that’s the timeline we live in and I’m so happy!

Can’t wait to watch it again in the next week and cry like a bitch
