Horror. Cult. Trash. I make poor choices.
There are many great fight sequences. The training sequences started to feel like they were going on longer than they needed. There's a big-bad-guy reveal just before the final fight scene that should have been foreshadowed in some way, because it just didn't work for me, humorous or otherwise. I also didn't like the sudden introduction of a little wire-work in the final fight.
Bursts from the starting gate and maintains a frantic comedic pace until about an hour in, and then quickly loses steam. The shift in pacing is jarring at first and a little frustrating, but it doesn't completely lose its charm. The story is helped by the fact that every single fight scene, and there are many, is fast and really exciting. I was ooh-ing and aah-ing quite a bit.
A woman marries into an extremely wealthy family who then force her into a deadly game of hide and seek, intent on killing her before sunrise. She is then chased around the enormous mansion as she tries to survive.
I saw this one based on all the positive buzz it was receiving here on Letterboxd and on the 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It does not disappoint. If you're looking for something easy to watch and darkly comical, you should…
