Gorgeous direction. The standout performance for me was Rosamund Pike. This is also pretty much the only thing in which I didn't totally dislike Neil Patrick Harris. I wish Nick had been presented as an unreliable narrator sociopath (like in the book) instead of just as a victim of his psycho wife, but then this is pretty typical of David Fincher adaptations so. See also the general shitty treatment of female characters. But this was genuinely an enjoyable watch so ugh.
