Letterboxd — Your life in film

I want to make a bitchy comment like “the scariest thing about this was Jemma running down the street with her mask covering her mouth but not her nose” but it was actually a very fun time and I enjoyed the movie. Also I had a shittier version of the idea behind what I thought was the best scene in the movie, the floating mask filter, except it used the Face ID square thing.

Maybe it was because I watched this in the middle of a warm sunny day, maybe it was because I’ve been to a two-day conference at the literal resort where this was shot, and maybe it’s because this movie had the exact same issues as Goodnight Mommy (which I didn’t actually realize was by the same people until I finished) but it fell kinda flat for me. The Ending was great, but those ~20 minutes don’t make up for the previous yawn-fest. Loved Riley ’s performance though. Also the kneeling on a burning log? Hot.

Maybe it’s the fever making me delirious but this movie was kinda fun idk

I wasn't ready

I’d watch a feature-length of Brad Pitt on acid trying to feed his dog but that’s about it.

Visually excellent but nothing else really worked for me. What a criminal underuse of Natasha Lyonne.

I haven't watched this twice; it just took me like a month to finish it. A deeply unpleasant movie-watching experience.
