Good Time

Good Time ★★★★★

(Short Review)

“Don’t be confused. It’s just going to make it worse for me.”

Damn. I’m on a role for good movies (kind of). Good Time is a good time.
I couldn’t help but love every single second of this film. The story sucked me in from the first scene. I’d say my only complaint would be the film’s runtime.
It’s 1 hour and 40 minutes but I wish it were 3 hours. I could watch this story play out forever.
This is Robert Pattinson’s best performance. I think there’s a chance he could sneak in an Oscar nomination this year. It’s not a high chance, but a chance none the less. Great writing and directing. Ben Safdie is not only a great director (along with his brother), but a great actor as well. He’s in it for like maybe 10 minutes but he made a great impression on me.

This has been a great year for A24. I’m not kidding when I say this has the potential to be considered for many of the big Oscars when it comes time to vote. Unfortunately, this will probably be forgotten since many are looking at the films now coming out. Which is too bad because this film is really fucking great.
I’d watch this again in a heartbeat.
I even watched the end credits. Yes, all of them.

Good Time is a different take on the crime thriller genre. It has a lot more heart and soul than most. 2017 is a great year for movies. Wouldn’t you agree?

10/10 (A+).
