Hugo Castillo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Loved the episodic feel, very fresh and just full of great moments.
On the other hand, it also felt a little disjointed and makes it feel longer than it really is.
The 70mm was fantastic, the use of extremely overexposed exteriors, the vibrant Punch-Drunk Love blue flares, beautiful. Did not really notice Greenwood's score as the majority of the film is soundtracked by needle drops, some bangers too.
I wouldn't say this impacted me as much as PTA's other works - at least as immediately, but I definitely appreciate these less serious works being a big defender of Inherent Vice.
Also, I love the Valley.
