  • Welcome to the Dollhouse

    Welcome to the Dollhouse

I am apparently incapable these days of viewing a narrative about a socially awkward, situationally unaware character without seeing a reflection of autistic experience. One might say that that’s simply what it is to go through childhood, but my only point of reference is an autistic childhood, so who’s to say?

i mean i get now why anthony perkins got so much ass

If 15-year-old babydyke me had watched this immediately post-realization instead of The Real O’Neals, I might have better taste in movies and TV today, because Tammy Metzler hit HOME.

I don’t always like movies with narration but when I do it’s unreliable narration.

    The Importance of Being Earnest

    Obligatory “A haaaandbaaaaag?”

Fucking stellar. Don’t know how I made it this long without ever reading this play, but I was happy to get dragged along the twists and turns! Watched this for the quintessential comedy of manners, and was not disappointed. I’m planning to also read some P.G. Wodehouse after this, in addition to my already-owned copies of Joe Keenan’s novels (speaking of which, Frasier and Niles definitely played Importance of Being Earnest as kids).

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

I never watch horror and i never read these books as a kid but my roommate did and she infodumped at me a bunch and then showed me videos about the practical effects (and an appreciation for practical effects is the closest way to my heart). Had fun!!

Does Michael McKean ever play straight? And don’t say Better Call Saul because yes Chuck is straight but i’m not counting that one. Keep in mind that i’ve only seen this, Better Call Saul, and Best in Show. Aaaaaaand go

  • School of Rock

    School of Rock

The epitome of a feel-good movie!! The kids were probably really having fun with Jack Black I imagine he would do his darndest to make that set a ball for them. Honestly the most unbelievable part of this movie is the fact that Gordon improvised the fucking lighting

  • The Disaster Artist

    The Disaster Artist

In love with the fact that half the conflict of this movie is that Tommy won’t open up and be honest about his life, except the real Tommy Wiseau never did that, so the resolution of that plot has to be “Well I learned to ignore that”. What a way to plot the movie that you’re making and directing and acting (quite like Mr. Wiseau himself, actually).

Fuck dude I need to watch The Room again because. Yeah that sure…
