Really thought this was going to be set in England...

Manchester by the Sea is an amazingly put together film. Dealing with the effects of loss and how people process it differently it tackles really personal and relatable issues with excellent execution. From the subject matter, to the shooting, to the writing everything just feels so human and real. Every beat that is hit throughout and the resolution at the end keep you reminded this isn’t a fairy tale, it’s life, pure unfiltered life. Everyone involved is perfect but Casey Affleck, wow, he is the perfectest. A stunning performance that doesn’t even feel like a performance, he’s just being. This is a movie I’ll definitely be coming back to, there’s so many elements that work in perfect harmony to make it such an enjoyable and touching film.
