    A very interesting watch having just seen the almost plagaristically-similar Card Counter. It moves much better, and feels more like a "Movie", but I didn't find any of the characters as interesting as Schrader's creations. This plus the lack of much political relevance leave it with the same rating as CC despite being so handsomely mounted.

    A pretty amazing pile of pieces, visual and intellectual, assembled into something that doesn't feel right. There are a few really clever twists, but the protagonist's arc is pretty loathsome, and the theoretical villain, who was the most interesting character in the film, doesn't feel like they remotely deserve the comeuppance they get.
