I, Tonya

I, Tonya ★★★★

oh how it feels to lose the only thing you do. how it feels to know your whole life is about to change. how it feels to be helpless and not be able to do anything about it. how it feels that you’re certain of only one thing— you’ve unknowingly danced your last dance.

did you regret anything? did you ever want to change a single thing you’ve done? did you enjoy your last dance?

you probably miss the butterflies in your stomach before and after performing, or the cheers while you’re entering the arena, or the adrenaline of being in the moment, or hearing people call your name wherever you go, or the validation and recognition you get from the people who hurt you.

but you can’t do anything now— you’ve unknowingly danced your last dance. you can't go back and soak up every little detail you want to remember. all you can do is turn another page in your book and hope that everything turns out for the best.

“She wants everyone to know she’s a good mother.”
