Kevin, uh, Skywalker, yeah’s review published on Letterboxd:
You come from nothing. You're nothing. But not to me.
THE LAST JEDI looks amazing, has a legitimately great Mark Hamill perfomance, and contains some of the coolest moments that Star Wars has to offer. So... why don't I love it?
My best guess is it's lack of cohesion. It feels like four episodes of dissimilar Star Wars stories cut together, often poorly. Perhaps the best example is in the way the ridiculously awesome throne room fight is at least twice interrupted to show an important but comparatively mundane scene.
That said, there is a lot to like, even love. I just wish it felt more like part of the trilogies than a hodgepodge of interesting ideas. -1/2
They blow you up today, you blow them up tomorrow. It's just business.
