this was not at all what I expected it to be 

people throw around this phrase “ahead of its time” a lot when really the film is just a good film, but this one was well and truly 20 or 30 years ahead of its time. truly amazing filmmaking. The suspense is relentless and the absence of music works wonders for this film. 

I’m gonna say it..... Pacino was better in this than the godfather
