Harvey Brooks’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’m gonna start writing longer reviews for some movies and the only way I can describe this one with is…
It’s a very boring movie where characters are introduced and then forgotten about.
Despite being around 100 minutes, it feels like 200.
Llewyn Davis is not a compelling character, his backstory or motivations are never explained. He never really does anything but go from place to place meeting people.
The movie’s pointless, that’s what bothered me. Plot points such as the ex with the baby or the fat man’s assistant who got arrested are just dropped and never mentioned again. It felt like I was watching The Room.
The music sucked too. Also, the ending is wrong and fucks up the continuity of the whole movie.
