a portrayal of childhood innocence so realistic, so natural, as you're walking around with these kids just being kids, it just takes you to another world. it's emotional because everyone can relate to it, on one level or another, no matter how they grew up. and that's the beauty of it.

then comes the gut punch, the ugliness of adult life.

I've said it before and now i'm more confident than ever saying it after this rewatch: this is one of the best films ever made.
