Phantom Thread

Phantom Thread

“It's comforting to think the dead are watching over the living. I don't find that spooky at all.”

FILM CLUB SCREENING #2
PREVIOUS REVIEW
Still one of the most gorgeous pieces of art I’ve ever seen. I was planning to screen Eraserhead today for Film Club but unfortunately my hard drive died the night before so, I picked this off my Vudu.

Phantom Thread is beautifully shot, wonderfully written, brilliantly composed and masterfully performed. Paul Thomas Anderson makes yet another masterpiece and I loved it just as much on a third watch.

Fun Fact:
The name Reynolds Woodcock began as a joke suggested by Daniel Day-Lewis to director Paul Thomas Anderson. The name made Anderson laugh so hard he cried, cementing its presence in the script.
