Task #23: A horror film set in the American South.
Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I feel like that is blasphemous amongst horror fans but that's just the reality I live in, I guess. So with that being said, there's no way in hell I was going to like this.
I normally would like some of the goofy horror aspects but I couldn't pay attention with all the screaming. And the twirling at the end? That was the final nail in the dumb coffin. I didn't even care for Dennis Hopper's character. What was his deal? Why could he not just get a gun? Why'd he have to get chainsaws as well? Why was he so wishy washy about the whole thing? Why didn't he tell Stretch his plan? Was there even really a plan?
Anyway, I didn't absolutely hate it. I liked the makeup and practical effects. Some decent gore and weirdness. But mostly just dumb trash.
