Roma has easily become the best film I’ve ever seen and has dethroned Back To The Future as my favorite movie of all time. Cuarón beautifully captures the life of an indigenous woman in Mexico City in 1970.
Cuarón perfectly showed both his love for México and his anger as well throughout the film with different jabs directed towards the government and the toxic masculinity that infects Mexican culture as well as showing his love for the hard working people…
Slow, reflective, and playful are some of the words that came to mind when I saw this movie. It’s a wholesome movie about remembering who you are and about growing up in your 20’s. The performances were amazing and vibrant and the editing was so beautifully executed. It’s honestly a great movie to watch when life is just getting a lil to stressful and you need a pick me up.
