    Jolt

Seeing Kate Beckinsale kick-ass is fun; a gender-swapped version of Crank: High Voltage (2009) could've been entertaining; however, Jolt doesn't have a sense of self. It tries to go with every genre possible (action, romance, thriller, comedy, etc) all blended up in a severely aching mishmash with no logic whatsoever. It could've been an electrifying flick, nevertheless, it drags and aches for so long that it isn't enjoyable.

    Blood Red Sky

Netflix's Blood Red Sky starts an interesting plane hijacking flick that involves vampires with small doses of nastiness and blood buckets are spilled. However, the last two acts ruin the fun as it meshes action, horror, and thriller all together in a fashion that never gels. Could've been another entertaining cult classic, like Snakes on a Plane, but the people involved don't go with the bit as one might want to. Entertaining at first, lackluster and incredibly messy in the end.

Annette is a lot of things; whimsical, amusing, eccentric, provocative, touching, bizarre, incandescent, & slightly pompous, but I enjoyed every single minute of it. It isn't Carax's best work, but it outdoes itself by the minute in a fascinating way that you end up wanting more and more of it, even when it drags. Although this was Adam Driver's show, Simon Helberg and Marion Cotillard were also great.

Hours after watching the film, the songs are still stuck in my mind. I need that soundtrack on Spotify pronto.

The Suicide Squad is the best film of the DCEU and it's really good fun. It starts to drag on some occasions, however, the bloody gory and violent action set-pieces truly deliver that popcorn entertainment. Harley and Polka-Dot Man were great, but Ratcatcher 2 was the standout IMO. Really worth checking out on IMAX when it formally releases next week. Well done, James Gunn.

Lowery creates yet another visceral, cerebral, & spellbinding work with The Green Knight. The weight of the world is on the back of Gawain as he searches for worth while love, lust, torment, & dread lurk around the moss-covered grounds. A hero's tale that takes its time, but is truly worth the journey. It's really good!

Forgot to log this when I saw it. Totally forgot that I saw it. This had a lot of potential... that is my review. This had a lot of potential and if it was in the hands of another director, she/he would have probably made a better work with it.
