I love musicals and I think this is one of the best musicals I've ever seen. It's so good. I love it. This has one of the best production designs of any movie ever. How was this only nominated for 2 Oscars. This should have been nominated for the majority of the Oscar categories. Like, seriously, no production design, cinematography... NO acting nom for Gene Kelly.... Are you kidding me?! No acting nom for Debbie Reynolds... Something is wrong with this.

I think Gene Kelly might be one of the hardest working actors ever. He was an actor/director/choreographer in this film. Performed the iconic Singin' in the Rain number with a 103 degree fever. I've never seen anyone give 1000% like this before. One of my favorite performances from any actor ever. Period. This is also my first Gene Kelly film and I did not know he was so handsome.

After watching this film and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, I now have seen the major inspirations for La La Land.
