Nightmare Alley

Nightmare Alley ★★★★

A grimy, bitter and spiraling yet visually spellbinding neo-noir film from Guillermo del Toro himself. I absolutely adored del Toro’s vision and melodramatic take on this. The film takes twist and turns so seamless and immersive that only he could pull off.

Every actor shines in this film, but dear god how brilliant Bradley Cooper is in this especially. This made me realize HOW much I’ve missed seeing him on the big screen since A Star Is Born. He is one of a few actors that have a certain shine and spark to his eyes that is truly unbelievable. The pairing with him and Cate Blanchett was riveting to watch. The scene where Cate “interrogates” him as her psychiatrist patient was incredible to witness.
