Hey Fella’s review published on Letterboxd:
Weirdly enough this reminded of 3 From Hell. What I mean is that it brought me back to a type of cinema that doesn’t really exist anymore, unashamed journeys into our purest vulgar interests. Now while this is obviously much more “sanitized” in its presentation as it’s a Netflix biopic, it still doesn’t shy away from what Rudy Ray Moore enjoyed as a human being and the art he made to reflect that. Eddie Murphy who’s also known for his vulgarity and off color sense of humor is right at home embodying this man who he respects so much. There’s a sincerity here that almost makes me want to cry.
