Midsommar

Midsommar ★★★★★

10/10

My friends know I think Hereditary is kind of overrated. So naturally I went into Midsommar caustiously. And walked out bewildered, subverted, and satisfied. Immensely so. This certainly isn’t for everyone. But that’s what I like about it. The score is phenomenal, chilling, exciting, and oddly soothing. Florence Pugh kills it. The cinematography is so pristine and focused and tight. The editing is exciting. This is daunting and is bound to have people walking out. There is a large comedy element, and it works so well. These characters truly feel entitled and ignorantly American. This is gonna be with me awhile. Phewph.
