I quickly rolled my eyes when my siblings put this on, but found myself completely won over by the end. It weaves together insights about the relationships between finance capital, corporate tech giants, social media narcissism, and poor mental health for children. All without sacrificing the simple joys of a sentimental kids movie 👻🫡

I didn’t buy it for a second, but that’s kind of a given.
What I find really fucking annoying about this though, outside of the absolutely shameless Scorsese “homages,” and the repetitive jokes about a disabled man’s height, is the “discourse” surrounding this movie. All these high and mighty liberal critics fueling the film’s marketing by framing it as “immoral” or “irresponsible” are really just being dramatic. In substance, this is the usual commercial fare, hiding beneath the “art film”…
