Courtroom dramas are not typically the kind of movies that I go for. Even if I find the case itself interesting, I just can never get invested in movies about them. 

I do think that Just Mercy exceeds in this genre even if the genre isn’t for me. It’s not a movie that I’ll revisit or make any of my favorites lists. But I think it accomplished what it set out to do and it did it well. I think that this story is important so I’m glad that it was done well. 

Having a talented director and cast really makes all the difference in these kind of movies. Michael B Jordan and Jamie Foxx sold me on this movie and I’m glad that Bryan Stevenson and Walter McMillian got their story heard.
