This movie feels like laying on the floor where a sun patch is shining through your window and feeling the warmth. It feels like the memory of how happy you were when you won a racing game at a pool party when you were 12. It feels like walking home on the last day of school and knowing you get to bask in this sunshine for the next three months. It feels like when you finally arrive at your hotel by the beach after a 13 hour drive and you slam open the door and race your siblings to the ocean.
This is the ideal comfort movie. It’s warm and bright and only exists to be fun. It also realizes that Lily James is just so nice to look at and can pull off ugly 70s attire weirdly well.
