I don’t know where to begin with this review or this movie. I do think this was a beautiful film I just uhhhh don’t get it. I feel like I need to see this one 3-4 more times to even begin to absorb everything that it’s trying to say.
I really like films that explore dynamics in relationships and this was one of the best I’ve seen of the kind of film that’s very conversation-heavy. I think it worked better for me because the atmosphere was so dream-like and the performances were amazing. The performances honestly were very impressive because the monologues were drawing me in rather than making me zone out - particularly the scene where she describes the events at the beach.
The ending is probably a masterpiece but it left me mostly confused on how to feel. But I think that’s what makes this movie is so iconic.
