this movie was gorgeous honestly the aesthetic was my favorite thing about it. the yellow-cloaked, blissfully unaware, kind of spooky forest vibes were brilliant.
there’s a lot of interesting ideas that this story explores too that i think are really interesting. obviously, there’s a twist because shyamalan loves doing that, but it doesn’t feel like it’s shoved in just to be twisty. it’s really an interesting way to examine how people deal with grief and loss. But it also deals with how power structures want the people that they govern to be ignorant so they can keep feeding them lies and do what they want with no questions.
i think this story was strong visually and thematically with the added benefit of having strong lead performances. it was really good!
