This was very much not for me. I was either bored or confused the whole time. I zoned out a lot and didn’t care about what was happening.
The Wizard of Oz references were plenty and so over the top. Almost as over the top as the acting! Like yeah let’s take Oz but add a bunch of sex, drugs, and misogyny! It really just wasn’t for me. And I didn’t care enough about it visually for that to draw me in either.
If anything the only thing that made this movie worth watching for me was Laura Dern and Willem Dafoe. They’re both incredibly dynamic and fun to watch. Also the lipstick scene was kind of iconic so it had its moments.
