I wish I saw this in the theater instead of with my family who, dumbfoundingly, spoke almost immediately over the silent credits and just about ruined the whole thing.

A painful, slow moving descent into hell where you know what's going to happen from the opening. The cyclical revisiting of that sequence reminds you to throw away what ever little hope you had left for Paul, after you've lost it for Kat, for Trajden...

Didn't care for the surrender and General scenes, though I get the intent with creating a time bomb tension and contrasting those environments with the muck and death on the battlefields.
