Jacob Kressner’s review published on Letterboxd:
Daaamn, I was afraid I wasn’t going to like this but it’s a good time! The songs and music videos are catchy and occasionally pretty iconic. Also Felicia knew a bunch of secrets and easter eggs which was fun. The story is the same old about finding yourself and self love but it’s the worst executed part of the movie. The main narrative flows well at first but towards the end the character arcs are rushed past to save screen time and in turn feel unmotivated. The iconic and detailed Lin-Mirandaesque musical numbers, the cute and charming characters and the breathtakingly beautiful animation is mainly what made this a rewatchable experience.
Animation is getting out of hand actually, this movie definetly took some trips into the uncanny valley. Slow down, Disney! Animation isn’t meant to be reality!
