I can't believe Ali was surprised at Sean being gay like. Really?

This was conveniently on Netflix and I realized I've never watched it and it's nothing much to write home about apart from Xtina and Cher's great performances.

Timothee Chalamet singing did give me a bit of an ick at the beginning, but I think this film did its job in conditioning me into accepting that it is quite alright.

The visuals and original songs were fun and for a family film like Wonka, sometimes that's all that matters.

The scenes in 35mm film (w/ faux borders?) really added a much needed change up from the typical concert film. Not just the behind-the-scenes but also some on-stage footage which I loved. I also have to commend the superior colour grading Homecoming received as its a total visual treat.

Unless theres some kind of message that Beyoncé wanted to convey by switching her outfit between yellow and pink constantly, I wish there was more continuity as it kinda annoyed me…

I actually thought this was filmed in the 80s because of the incredible attention to detail during the prologue. It was bizarre to see young Brie Larson & Ashley Benson as well.

After that, it's pretty much an accurate time capsule of the early 2000s. Jennifer Garner pretty much carries this classic switcharoo film, I just can't see this working without her. Mark Ruffalo actually looks the same minus his greying hair its terrifying.

How much did they spend on music licensing?!
