Daryl’s review published on Letterboxd:
It's such an awful shame that this movie was rushed into development so quickly after the first. Both Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox's performances take a noticeable step-up from the previous film but even watching this for the first time in my early teens, I sussed the killer(s) immediately. The whole thing is a little more by-the-numbers but the cinematography and set pieces are a marked improvement.
Overall, this film is just more of the same, but less so. Scream 2 is enjoyable but ultimately failed to meet my expectations at 14... and again at 35.
And why the fuck is Hans Zimmer's Broken Arrow theme being used in this movie? It doesn't fit the scenes with David Arquette at all.
We will be covering the Scream franchise on the August 16th episode of the Sudden Double Deep podcast. Check us out!
