John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum features brilliant action, brutal and intense. Some of the most creative hand-to-hand combat on film. The movie is 95% fighting, with little-to-no story. In a 2+ hour film, that left me fairly bored by the end.‬

‪Still, it’s worth watching for the incredible action alone. Not bad at all, just maybe too much of a good thing.

    Pokémon Detective Pikachu

Detective Pikachu is genuinely fun and funny, wonderfully unique in the crowded world of blockbusters. The plot is pretty thin, with more than a few leaps of logic, but it’s forgivable when the world is so charming.‬

‪This could have been better, but I had a great time, and would love to see more.

    Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Mission: Impossible - Fallout is exactly as thrilling as you hope it will be! Amazing action, but it never overshadows the high stakes. The plot is complex but never convoluted. The Favourite

The Favourite balances three stunning leads with a brilliant script. It’s often really funny, but also full of sadness and complexity. Colman steals the show, but Stone and Weisz are so remarkably conniving.‬

‪This never feels like a stuffy costume drama. The costumes, the cinematography, the performances, and most of all, the WRITING.‬

‪I’ve not been a fan of Yorgos’ previous works, but consider me in on The Favourite.
