who was this film made for? i can appreciate that the visceral / grotesque elements of it were included to cause discomfort as per the theme of abuse, but it still felt like a story entirely devoid of a woman’s perspective. vilifying men is not enough for me to consider this a good metaphor and i guess i just found it all a bit shallow and rife with shock value.
