Impressive sets and cinematography, but this was pretty disappointing to say the least. An unnecessary slow burn with immediate foreshadowing, there’s not much to linger and ponder about after the viewing; I hate to say that’s it’s kind of spoon fed which is a shame. With a director like Del Toro coming hot off of Shape of Water and a stellar cast, it’s a shame this wasn’t as amazing as it was. While it definitely picks up in the third act, the film had already lost me.
