I’m the odd one out who thought the movie wasn’t as spectacular as everyone is saying it is. It’s a fun movie with the best Spider-Man action to date, but I found this film to be unnecessary. After the massive success and conclusion storyline that was Endgame, I genuinely feel like the MCU is done. They made there money, all the fans are happy, just leave it be. However, the Spider-Man story continues and we get to see Peter’s progression as a character, and while he doesn’t change much, it’s still cool to see Tom Holland in the role. He’s having the time of his life and he carries this movie. Jake Gyllenhaal was good, but sometimes he felt a bit over the top at times. I guess I’m just used to seeing him in smaller scale movies. My main gripe is the story. It’s another MCU movie with light-hearted humor, a storyline that will develop and progress the characters arcs, and a twist surprise ending that will set up another successful movie. Sound familiar? It’s because it’s the same movie we’ve seen over and over. It’s not a terrible movie, but there’s nothing new to offer.
