Really really realllly love the close-ups in this. So much of the camera's focus being on how the characters react to their environment and to the developments in the mystery makes the expansive world and story feel so intimate and down to earth.

Nothing much else to add! This is one of the best comic book movies in recent years and I am really excited to see where this saga leads up to and where it will end.

Finally, a movie that understands that all the best movies have:

    - atleast 5 extensively choreographed badass kung fu fight scenes
    - Michelle Yeoh
    - a really touching narrative about love and acceptance and optimism disguised as a mind-meltingly original multiverse fantasy
    - moments that make you wanna call your mom or your dad or your granddad or your lover or your pet raccoon and tell them how much you love them

The fact that something like *this* is so…

why are movies so wicked these days?? back in my time, this movie would be called doctor strange in the multiples of happiness or something. but no, this has to be twisted and cool so the teenagers think it’s edgy. two many cameos too. everyone’s gotta get riled up and shit their pants when tom cruise shows up as hipster doctor strange or whatever. and believe me, there’s gonna be so much pants shitting over this movie, you won’t believe…

First time I saw this I was like woahhh and now I'm like WOAAHHHHHHHHHH

What a work of art. So delicate, potent, explosive, raw, beautiful and perfect. No wonder Jane Campion swept the directing awards all year.

Also, won't be surprised if by the 4th or 5th viewing I start to see this as a comedy like I do with something like Phantom Thread coz it really is way funnier than people give it credit for. I mean when you really think about it it is kind of a dysfunctional family comedy, just gayer than usual.

I haven’t liked any of Malick’s films I’ve watched, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this movie, but a lot of people I often agree with love this movie, and I’m glad I quite liked it too. The cinematography is beautiful, and I feel like it captured how the war must look and feel better than most war films. It was almost never sensationalized, patriotic, heroic, etc., which I really appreciated. I really liked seeing the downtime between…

Pretty good start for my first PTA movie.

Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman have excellent chemistry and their performances and romance are what carry the movie along, including the writing around said romance. While I did enjoy the meandering structure I felt some scenes to be drawn out and the Asian jokes were unfunny and unnecessary. Really loved the look and feel of the movie and direction and editing were on point.

"Now, let me speak to you from my heart. Not as a scientist, as a father. Your father twice over. I brought you into the world and back to it. You can't imagine how proud I am, of who you are, have always been. So many years with you I've wasted, so many wrongs I've left un-righted. Everything breaks, Victor. Everything changes. The world is hurt, broken, unexchageable. The world's not fixed in the past, only the future. The not…
