The Forgotten

The Forgotten ★★★★

The Forgotten is Vittorio De Seta's last in a string of documentary shorts he made in the '50s before moving on to feature filmmaking, and, surprisingly, he takes a bit more time to take in the sights and offers some sparse narration. The village Alessandria del Carretto and its inhabitants are the forgotten here, but they don't seem to be so down about that. In fact, their village is full of life and celebration, and that's beautiful to me. Excuse me while I move to nowhere and remember how to live.
