Matt Epp’s review published on Letterboxd:
There are so many movies that have been ruined—partially to completely—purely by their ending. I was worried that was going to happen here but just as I was ready to throw this whole film away, the bait-and-switch finale was a breath of fresh air. While I wasn’t loving this movie, I LOVED that Whannell (and the studios) had the balls to pull off that ending. Prior to that, the action sequences and brutal violence made it worth getting to the end.
