The Banshees of Inisherin

The Banshees of Inisherin

All the bits where we are only concerned with the bizarre severity of Gleeson ending the friendship and Colin Farrell is wandering around like a dog that doesn’t realize it’s being dropped off at the pound rule. Everything else feels like a weird play at increasing escalation that, like, breaks the tension already there in the premise? Like McDonagh doesn’t trust himself and the strength of his original idea about two weird guys. Good on him for trading the Ozark plateau for the even more stage-like Irish isles, though.
