Ian Curran’s review published on Letterboxd:
A solid family drama interrupted by excessive and uninteresting CGI set pieces.
This is ultimately an origins movie. They tried their best to add some originality to how the origins of Shang-Chi were told through the use of some effective flashbacks, but I find origin stories tedious at this stage in the Marvel experiment.
I quiet liked that characters and performances; I’m looking forward to seeing how they’re used in the MCU.
Overall, solid mid-tier Marvel movie.
