the rise of skywalker is such a cheap nostalgia fest and it’s mind-blowing how much jj abrams bends over backwards to please whingy fans. i feel sorry for rian johnson more than anything. what i loved about the last jedi is that it made star wars feel fresh again – this feels regressive. at least i’m mildly impressed that a 2.5 hour long movie manages to waste every single character.
