(Sundance 2021 Movie #1)
FLEE floored me with its use of animation and archival footage to tell the story of Amin Nawabi. It's a gut-wrencher and moving story about a man that wants to find a way to safety after fleeing from the Middle East. If you're not shedding a tear during this, I'm not sure if you're human. The animation almost reminded me of "Waltz With Bashir" because of how it portrays the life of being a refugee. It's well animated and I also love its use of showing little archival footage of what was going on.
I'm so glad I started my first Sundance Film Festival with this. I hope it will get more attention after its Sundance run.
