Dial M for Murder

Dial M for Murder ★★★★½

Watched on 3D blu ray.

Instantly became one of my favorite Hitchcock films. This is definitely one of his movies that feels like a play in that virtually all the action takes place in a single apartment. No time is wasted, the movie plunges directly into the action, one of Hitch's "perfect murder" movies and the tension during the dialogue scenes is thrilling (that's important because this movie is all conversations).

The movie definitely threw me for a few twists as you try and guess what will happen next. The mind games are just the right complexity that you can keep track of what's happening but you struggle to stay one step ahead of the characters.

The 3D fit the movie very well, use of foreground was excellent and on 3D blu ray the frames had nice depth. Most memorable is when Margot reaches her hand towards the camera during the attack (the moment seen on the poster).
