Blah blah blah
I’m surprised I adore this short film as much as I do.
It’s imaginative and lovely. The sets are large, detailed, and immersive; it was like a dream. Extremely creative especially for being made in 1902. The cute sense of humor was wonderful. Also having a puppet in it is, ashamedly, a sure-fire way into my heart.
They only shot wide but they kept the action relatively minimum beyond what you were supposed to watch so it didn’t feel overwhelming.
I want to bring back astronomers looking like wizards.
I have mixed feelings on this movie. After reading the description I got really excited. The execution, however, was disappointing.
On a technical level, the cinematography was good. Pretty, straightforward, did it’s job well enough to not be noticeable (which is minimally what a film should aim for and far better than the alternative; sucking very noticeably). With such a high concept story though I was hoping for a little more uniqueness, but either way can’t complain on that front.
