scott aa wilson’s review published on Letterboxd:
All the best bits are the dorky kids on holiday. When all of these films end with big smashy bashy fights, it's easy to forget some of the characters are people we actually wanna hang out with. Peter Parker and chums are good company and the adolescent romance is super sweet that it's a pain when Jake Gyllenhaal - big fan - gets in the way.
Having said that, far from being just-another-blockbuster, it's a film which frames drones as a bad thing and cautions against those spinning fake news. The biggest franchise in the world is acknowledging real-life talking points, and if even the most passive of viewers walk out sceptical of people influencing the media, then that means these films deserve as much analysis as our next love affair with an arthouse release. They have more eyes on them for a start.
