Mark’s review published on Letterboxd:
Really drags along for the first hour, but fortunately the last half hour makes it worthwhile.
Oslo, August 31st gets more tragic with each passing minute until it climaxes with a heartbreaking ending, but it is all done in quite a beautiful way.
More of an actor film than a director film though. Never really thought to myself, damn this is wonderfully directed. Just sorts of gets the job done. The main actor however is really good and is definitely the best part about this mostly solid film.
Can't wait to see Thelma tomorrow though, looks way more up my alley than this one.
