Feature films that were written or co-written by women. I tried to only include cinema releases but a few TV movies have probably sneaked in.
I recommend sorting from earliest to newest release. I think this shows the most interesting pattern.
Bearing in mind that the production of movies was generally more prolific during the Hollywood Golden Age (up until the 1950s) and generally slowed from then on, the rough breakdown by decade is as follows:-
1914-1919: 45
1920s: 152
1930s: 323
1940s: 195
1950s: 65…
