Perhaps Méliès’ most mischievous imps yet
I really have very little to say about this except that it was cool and entertaining and well made. Not a transcendent masterpiece as some were hoping but very good regardless. Maybe it’ll age into something more profound for me but it doesn’t need to. It looks great, is well acted, and packs a punch.
One thing I really liked about the film was how it handled a moral vision of the world that is completely detached from modern perspectives.…
